LEA PUBLIC REGISTER

Introduction
The Lesotho Electricity Authority has been established to regulate the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) in a transparent and accountable, yet responsible manner. This is indicated by a number of prescriptive provisions of the Lesotho Electricity Authority Act 2002 as amended.  Amongst others, LEA is required to maintain a Public Register providing comprehensive details of all electricity licences issued by the Authority.
General Notes for users

Lesotho Electricity Authority Act No.12 of 2002 requires the Authority to maintain a Public Register with comprehensive details of Licencees. The Register is held in the LEA offices at Moposo House, 6th Floor Kingsway Street and is open for public inspection between 0900Hrs and 1600Hrs, Monday to Friday, except on public holidays.

Users of the Register are requested to note that while LEA endeavors to ensure that information in the Register is accurate and up-to-date, the information recorded in the Register is only as accurate as the information provided by the Licencees. Users are further to note that there may be time delays between receipt of information and subsequent entry in the Register. It is therefore possible that on the day of the search, the Register may not have been updated accordingly and as such, the required information in relation to the Licencee may not be available. If Users require information that is listed as included in the Register but does not appear to be available, feel free to contact the Front Desk for assistance.

Lastly, Users should note that some information at LEA’s disposal may not be included in the Register and is therefore not publicly available.

FEES
The public is made aware that any person may, on payment of a fee, be supplied with a copy or an extract of any part of the information in the Register. However, requests for bulk information shall be considered separately.
